A Health Information System (HIS) “collects data from health and other relevant sectors, analyses the data and ensures their overall quality, relevance and timeliness, and converts the data into information for health-related decision-making.” This toolkit provides tactical and technical guidance for developing a new HIS policy. The technical guidance can also be used to update and revise an existing HIS policy.
