Senior Technical Advisor – Brazil

The Senior Technical Advisor will be responsible for providing technical leadership for program planning and implementation in Brazil and Latin American countries engaged by the Resolve to Prevent Epidemics initiative. The initiative is currently supporting several countries respond to the current COVID – 19 pandemic. The role will provide strategic guidance around pandemic response while linking capacity building efforts to longer term preparedness when possible.

Nutrition Program Manager, Ethiopia

Reporting to the Ethiopia Country Director, the Nutrition Program Manager is responsible for implementing and supervising the nutrition program based on national protocols and guidelines of the Federal Ministry of Health (FMOH). Key elements of the nutrition program include: national proclamation development and implementation; capacity building of Regional Health Bureaus (RHB) and health care workers; community mobilization; and research projects.

Hypertension Program Manager, Ethiopia

Reporting to the Ethiopia Country Director, the Hypertension Program Manager will oversee implementation and supervision of the hypertension program based on national protocols and guidelines of the Federal Ministry of Health (FMOH). A key area of responsibility will be supporting data collection efforts at health care facilities involved in this program using the Simple app.

The Data Impact Coordinator, based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, will be responsible for ensuring that the implementation of Initiative-funded activities in Ethiopia is country-owned and country-driven, technically sound and sustainable as well as in line with program goals and objectives, best practice standards, approved work plans, and budgets. S/he will ensure that Initiative activities are continuously monitored, and that implementation obstacles are identified and reported in a timely manner. This position will be embedded in the EPHI, with dual accountability to EPHI and Vital Strategies.

Vital Strategies is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Proposal and Grants Manager. The Proposal Manager will be responsible for the contractual, financial and some of the reporting aspects of an assigned departmental portfolio, as well as developing cost proposals on US federal proposals and other potential donors. The Grants and Proposal Manager will report to the Director, Budget and Grants Management and work closely with the Senior Finance team and Program teams across the organization. Technical Officer – Strategic Data Analysis

The position will develop a deep understanding of the projects and workstreams in the state’s opioid crisis response and available sources of data on opioid use, overdose, treatment access and utilization, and recovery. Michigan’s opioid strategy focuses on harm reduction, medication-assisted treatment access, acute overdose response, overdose surveillance, and racial disparities in overdose, among other areas.

Communications Consultant, US COVID-19 Response Initiative

This position will support COVID-19 response strengthening efforts across approximately eight partner jurisdictions. Under the supervision of the initiative’s Director and with support from key Vital Strategies / Resolve to Save Lives communications staff, the Communications Consultant will work with communications and community engagement specialists to ensure public understanding, appreciation and buy-in for the importance of public behaviors – including contact tracing, testing, and mask-wearing –  as critical measures for stopping the spread of the novel coronavirus.

Senior Community Engagement Advisor, US COVID-19 Response Initiative

As a member of the Vital Strategies / Resolve to Save Lives US COVID-19 Response Team, the Senior Community Engagement Advisor will support efforts to assist local (ie, county or city) health departments in strengthening their response to the COVID-19 epidemic. The focus of the position will be on working through jurisdictions with Black, Latinx, and Native American communities and other groups made vulnerable to the epidemic by systemic factors.

We are seeking Health IT Project Consultant(s) to provide advisory and hands-on support to one of the following jurisdictions participating in our program: Franklin County, OH; Forsyth County, NC; Wake County, NC; North Carolina State; Marion County, IN; Dallas County, TX. You will lead the setup of new technology used to help a local public health department conduct contact tracing at scale to meet the demands of COVID-19. The Senior Health Security Specialist will be embedded within Asian Development Bank’s Health Sector Group to support ADB’s overall three-pronged response to COVID-19 by: (i) generating evidence, (ii) convening partners, and (iii) financing response activities. The Campaign Manager will drive integrated communication strategies aligned with campaign themes, with an emphasis on media relations, digital communications, stakeholder engagement and strategic advertising. Reporting to the Director of the STOP partnership at Vital, the Campaign Manager will work closely with the Vital team on campaign planning, message development, announcement strategy, social media campaigns, digital marketing and event strategy. The Campaign Manager will liaise with communication staff from the four partner organizations to ensure alignment on strategies and content.

Bloomberg Initiative to Reduce Tobacco Use is a six-year global health initiative that aims to reduce the global demand for tobacco through a comprehensive, proven approach that combines policy change with increased public awareness. The tobacco control work at Vital China Office is technically guided and funded by the Bloomberg Philanthropies through the International Union Against Tuberculosis and Lung Disease (The Union). The tobacco control team in China has been working with a number of key partners including the National Health Commission of China, the China Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Chinese Center for Health Education, Provincial and Municipal Health Commissions, CDCs and Health Education Institutes and other tobacco control organizations.

Vital Strategies is looking for a qualified a candidate for the position of a Technical Advisor, Research. This position supports the China CDC Tobacco Control Office and the Tobacco Control Program Team at Vital Strategies China Office in enhancing existing research projects, identifying new research topics and establishing research programs to advance tobacco control policies in China, including interpretation of data for health policy, NCD and beyond. S/he will work closely with the International Union against Tuberculosis and Lung Disease (The Union); the leading partner on this program.
