Publications Implementation of buprenorphine initiation and warm handoff protocols in emergency departments: A qualitative study of Pennsylvania hospitals Focused on a state with the fifth highest drug overdose mortality rate in the U.S., this study examined the perspectives of staff in six hospitals on the processes, challenges, and facilitators to buprenorphine initiation and warm handoff protocols in emergency departments. It yielded results that can be used to optimize implementation of those evidence-based modes of treatment and ongoing care.

This study analyzed the reliability of a particular model of verbal autopsy for estimating the probability that the causes of 112 deaths in São Paolo, Brazil, were associated with COVID-19.
