It is entirely unacceptable that every year 1.6 million people die from a disease that we have been able to treat since the 1940s. In developed nations, tuberculosis has nearly been eradicated, but in low- and middle-income countries, TB remains the leading infectious killer.

A new campaign highlighting the benefits of increasing tobacco taxes to reduce the harms of tobacco has been launched by the Vietnam Tobacco Control Fund (VNTCF), Ministry of Health.

"This powerful campaign marks an important step forward in fighting Viet Nam’s leading preventable killer – tobacco use. We believe it will encourage more smokers to comply with Viet Nam’s smokefree laws."
