A new e-learning course for physicians on how to properly certify medical cause of death was launched today by Vital Strategies in partnership with six ministries of health in Africa. This is the first Medical Certification for Cause of Death (MCCOD) course designed specifically for the African region.

Accra was one of two cities in the BIGRS initiative that recently launched campaigns to combat speeding and drink driving during the holiday season. Bangkok, Thailand, utilized a social experiment video to show the deadly dangers of speeding. Accra debuted its first campaign to combat drinking and driving during the festive season – both with the support of Vital Strategies.

The campaign will run on social media and on billboards throughout the city through January. The campaign includes a victim testimonial, sharing the story of a woman who was hit by a car.
