Addis Ababa launched its first speeding campaign in 2017, featuring a several PSAs that convey the importance of obeying the posted speed limit by showing the consequences of speeding and illustrating how lower speeds can prevent crashes and reduce the severity of injury when a crash does occur. A third PSA amplifies speeding enforcement.
In 2019, the Accra Metropolitan Assembly adapted the “Schoolgirl” campaign for its first-ever mass media campaign to deter speeding. The PSA is available here. In 2021, Ghana National Road Safety Authority successfully used the “Schoolgirl” PSA in their national campaign to curb speeding around the Easter holiday season. The PSA is available here.
