Vital Strategies is proud to announce a new partnership with the Livelihood Impact Fund’s Eyeglasses Initiative to address the enormous global burden of presbyopia—a vision impairment that affects nearly all adults over 40. This partnership will promote improvements to the policy environment that will improve access to over-the-counter eyeglasses, starting in Kenya before scaling globally.

To address health inequities in Native communities, Vital Strategies has partnered with the New Mexico Tribal Behavioral Health Providers Association and Americans for Indian Opportunity to launch a funding initiative that will distribute $1.68 million to Native nations, Tribal health programs, Native-led organizations, and Native-focused initiatives.

Vital Strategies has released the “Health Taxes Action Guide: A Road Map for Policymakers”—a comprehensive toolkit to help governments implement effective health taxes on harmful products such as tobacco, alcohol and sugar-sweetened beverages. Designed for health policymakers, the guide details a step-by-step approach to draft, pass and defend health taxes to confront rising rates of noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) worldwide.
