In November 2010, the Ministry of Health of Poland and the Chief Sanitary Inspectorate launched a mass media campaign to support strong amendments to a new national smoke-free law. Smoking in public places, including bars, restaurants, health care facilities, workplaces, and public transportation, was restricted effective November 15th. The “Smoke Free Works (Pub)” campaign was originally created in Ireland. The campaign advertisement is set in a typical restaurant and depicts workers being exposed to secondhand smoke. It shows the harms of exposure and the benefits of smoke-free bars to patrons and workers.
