A proven model for integrating eye care into primary health systems is scaling across Nigeria. The Livelihood Impact Fund, the Clinton Health Access Initiative and Vital Strategies are supporting the government’s expansion of Presidential Initiative Jigi Bola 2.0 to 21 states, aiming to reach another million Nigerians with reading glasses by the end of 2026.

It is entirely unacceptable that every year 1.6 million people die from a disease that we have been able to treat since the 1940s. In developed nations, tuberculosis has nearly been eradicated, but in low- and middle-income countries, TB remains the leading infectious killer.
