Ukraine – Tobacco Control – Don’t Be Ignorant. Act

This campaign informs Ukrainians about the new smoke free law and encourages the public to take action by using a new violation reporting mechanism. E-cigarettes and heated tobacco products are not permitted in public spaces now, along with conventional tobacco products and hookahs.

This PSA ran alongside “No Smoking Friendly,” which encourages non-smokers to act by helping to enforce the law.

A national survey conducted in December 2022 found that the campaign was associated with increased awareness of the new law and that it made more than 60 percent of smokers concerned about the effect their smoking has on other people. It was also associated with increased support for smoke-free public spaces and made people more likely to speak up about secondhand smoke.
