Despite FCTC requirements, misleading terms on cigarettes pack such as ‘mild, ‘light’ etc., are still allowed in Russia. Recent surveys show that Russians underestimate the damage of so called light cigarettes and still believe that some cigarettes are less harmful that the others. This campaign, which aired in 2009 in Samara, was designed to educate people that regardless of the packaging, all cigarettes cause damage to the lungs, the heart and the body overall. It was linked to an annual international Smoke-Out Day in November.
