Dr. Tom Frieden, Op-Ed, Washington Post: We Need to Enter the Fifth Stage of Coronavirus Grief: Acceptance

At this point it’s clear: Our lives will be altered by the pandemic for months or years to come. As a society, we may become more reliant on younger people and those already exposed to the virus, and more attentive to shielding the vulnerable. Caring for others and prioritizing the collective good could lead to a positive societal change: First by necessity and then by choice, we may come to accept that we are all in this together.”

Dr. Tom Frieden discusses the emotions many are experiencing as the COVID-19 pandemic progresses, and how reaching calm acceptance can help us protect ourselves from infection.

The $40 million Bloomberg Philanthropies Coronavirus Global Response Initiative was announced on March 17. It partners with Resolve to Save Lives, Vital Strategies, and the World Health Organization, to help lower-income countries and cities respond to the COVID-19 pandemic.
