Understanding Motorcyclist Risk-Taking and Safety Perceptions: Insights from Formative Studies

Vital Strategies piloted formative studies with motorcyclists to help shape a more targeted safety agenda, addressing their specific risks and behaviors. This research provides insight into motorcycling experiences and examines motorcyclists’ risk-taking attitudes and safety perceptions. It also examines their knowledge and opinion of government road safety initiatives. Vital Strategies acknowledges the viewpoints of motorcyclists as a crucial yet often missing piece in a holistic road safety approach. A deeper analysis of drivers’ knowledge, attitudes and behavioral factors could strengthen road safety policies and initiatives and improve communication.
