Wallace D’Souza joins Vital Strategies as the Chief Financial Officer.
Prior to joining Vital Strategies, Wallace was the Chief Financial Officer at Planned Parenthood Federation (PPFA); the Planned Parenthood Action Fund; and Planned Parenthood Global. He was responsible for developing and implementing overall financial strategy, long term strategic planning, financial and cost management, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, investment strategy, and financial system implementations. He was responsible for working with the boards, the finance committees, audit subcommittee and investment subcommittee, overseeing the activities of both a 501 (c3) and a 501(c4) organization.
Prior to that in 2012, Wallace was the Sr. Director of Global strategic planning at the International AIDS Vaccine Initiative (IAVI), an organization focused on the development of HIV vaccines for use throughout the world. Wallace was instrumental in building the infrastructure, systems and business processes there as they expanded from a $50 million organization to a $120 million complex non-profit with operations overseas in Africa, India, and Europe.
Prior to IAVI, Wallace served as the Director of Budget & Financial Services at Manpower Demonstration Research Corporation (MDRC), a nonprofit, social policy research organization dedicated to learning what programs and policies will improve the well-being of low-income people. He also served as CFO/Controller of one of MDRC’s international subsidiaries in Canada and as the Global Corporate Controller of Compass Group LLC, an asset management and private equity firm.
He holds an MBA in Accounting and Finance from the University of Scranton and a Bachelor of Commerce, Accounting and Auditing from the MS University, India. Wallace was born in Kenya and lived there for 16 years and in India for 4 years.
